Information About The Day Your Puppy Is Shipped

Since the Internet has become the new way to research and shop for your new pet we thought you might find these facts interesting.

DELTA AND AMERICAN AIRLINES SHIP AN AVERAGE OF 25 TO 100 PETS A DAY NATION WIDE.
CONTINENTAL AIRLINES SHIPS AN AVERAGE OF 5O TO 150 PETS A DAY NATION WIDE.

You will be amazed at the excitement you and your children will feel when you are standing at the airlines, looking out the window, watching your puppy's plane fly in.
Because 97 % of my customers need their puppies shipped, I wanted to provide this information page to let you know what your puppies new arrival day will be like.

Your puppy will be shipped in a climate controlled cabin in the plane, the same temperature the passengers travel at, regardless of what rate you pay.
American Airlines does not allow shipping of pets if the temperature is less than 32 degrees outside in the winter, or above 85 degrees in the summer.

AMERICAN AIRLINES: American Airlines offers the most direct flights to almost all major airports.

CONTINENTAL AIRLINES: They have no temperature restrictions we may even double book your puppy's flight in the middle of winter or summer, to insure timely arrival of your puppy.

On the day they go to their new home we wake them up early in the morning and they have a big breakfast.
If it is warm outside we take them out to play.

We spend a little quality time together and say our good-byes we also bathe them and do their nails, having them painted or clipped. If a new fancy diamond studded collar was requested your sales Representative will pick out a pretty collar for the first trip home.
Jan will try to book your puppy's flight between: 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. in the spring and winter and before 9:00 a.m. in the summer.
I highly recommend that you immediately give your puppy 1/2 of a teaspoon of NUTRICAL when it arrives at your location. Nutrical can be purchased at your vet or you can request that we send a tub of nutrical with your puppy. Continue to give your puppy 1/4 a teaspoon twice a day until gone. It will help their sugar level to stay up if they feel nervous about their new home and lose their appetite.

When we get to the airport your puppy will be tired and sleepy from their busy morning and ready for a nap. Once they are inside the travel crate they normally do not know the difference from being in the crate on the plane, and being in their sleep crate at home because they cannot see outside of it. They are nestled in with a cozy little blanket that smells like home. After a long nap they normally wake up wide eyed and happy to meet their new family.

The main reasons I have a limit on the time that puppies can be shipped is because puppies need to have food and water at least every 4 to 6 hours. I realize there could be a delay in flight and it would be dangerous to let them go over 8 hours without food and water. If it is a long drive for you to get to the airport, please stop at a local pet shop or Wal-Mart and pick them up some canned dog food so they can eat as soon as you pick them up from the airport.

You can also request that we send puppy milk formulated just for new puppies and a can or pouch of soft food. Once you have picked up your puppy she / he will need to go to the bathroom right away. So, you may want to make a little stop outside of the airport before putting him/her in your car. You can take newspaper and keep it in your floorboard on the trip home if you live a long way from the airport. Once you get to the airport look for the American Airlines, Continental or Delta information booth and they will let you know were he/she can be picked up. 98% of all flights booked are on schedule, however, you need to call the airline that we have booked your flight on, before walking out the door. There could have been a delay in the flight due to rain, stormy weather or any other reason that may have caused them coming in a little later than planned.

If your puppy has a early departure, I normally have to be out the door by 3:00 in the morning because the airport is a hour and a half drive from my home. If I get stuck in early morning traffic ( I drive right thru busy Downtown Dallas) or get delayed for some reason, I will put your puppy on the next flight out. This is another reason that I ask for you to call the airport before you leave your home.

I will provide you with their phone number once I have booked the flight and we know exactly which airlines and airport your puppy will come in at. If you have a emergency and cannot pick your puppy up, please e-mail Jan, her e-mail address is listed below and call me immediately at 972-552-1989

Please leave a message if you do not reach me right away.
Becky's husband Wayne, will be taking your puppy to the airport Jan will provide you with his cell phone number on your shipping confirmation.
