Puppy Health Information: Teacup and Toy breeds are very delicate pets that require more attention and care. While they are expected to live a normal lifespan of 14 – 17 years, it is vital that for at least the first six months of their life they be watched over carefully. It is important that they become a part of a family who has the love, as well as the time to raise them and help them as they grow. We have included a few tips listed below to help you with your new puppy. We want to make sure you understand as much as possible about the risks that each puppy may face. We will not be held responsible for your lack of knowledge on Teacup and Toy breeds; however, we will do our best to give you as much health, care, and training information about the puppies we sell as possible. Additional information is listed in the Information section of our website. We are continuously updating it with more information; however, it is impossible to list everything about Teacup and Toy breeds. We recommend that you do more research on-line and in dog books to better educate you on these fragile pets.
Do not allow your puppy to go over 4 hours without eating.
If a puppy is not eating regularly it can cause their sugar level to drop so low that they may go into seizures. More than two seizures within a 24 hour period or long lasting seizures can damage a puppy’s liver. Don't feed him candy, as this can cause the blood sugar level to surge and then drop drastically. Do not allow them to drink regular milk either, their body cannot digest this.
